OREANDA-NEWS. The Armenian opposition will seek the impeachment of Prime Minister of the republic Nikol Pashinyan after the cancellation of martial law. This was reported by Shake Isayan, a member of the opposition faction Prosperous Armenia, during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly.

Martial law was declared in Armenia on September 27 due to the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. On the night of November 10, Moscow, Baku and Yerevan signed a trilateral statement on the cessation of hostilities.

“Our goal is open and transparent – the announced purely declarative martial law should be canceled, after which we all should declare impeachment to the person who holds the post of prime minister,” Isayan said. According to her, the preservation of the martial law regime is “a pathetic attempt to restrain the processes that objectively should have arisen after the signing of the surrender document, when the losing leader refuses to leave and give the country a new chance to ensure security and to return captives.” “Today, without exaggeration, we will either remove Nikol Pashinyan or lose Armenia,” the parliamentarian concluded.
