OREANDA-NEWS. Yekaterinburg hosted the eighth ministerial meeting of RIC – the troika of Russia, India and China – on May 15.

Its keen partner-like discussion on a wide range of pressing international and regional problems with an emphasis on the Asia-Pacific space has revealed a broad identity of positions within the RIC. Guidelines were agreed for deepening trilateral foreign policy consultations and developing practical cooperation in this composition in such areas as public health; agriculture, including the ensuring of food security; the prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences; and cultural exchanges.

The meeting has confirmed the relevance and necessity of the dialogue format of RIC and its growing stabilizing influence in international affairs.

A Joint Communique was adopted at the end of the meeting.
