OREANDA-NEWS. On October 28, a conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of France, Bernard Kouchner, took place in St. Petersburg on the sidelines of a session of the Russia-EU Permanent Partnership Council.

The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of both countries discussed a number of questions relating to Russian-French bilateral cooperation and to the preparations for the upcoming 22nd Russia-EU summit in Nice on November 13-14.

During the meeting, individual aspects of overcoming the world financial crisis through joint efforts were touched on.

The Ministers exchanged views on the current situation in Transcaucasia and on the progress achieved in carrying out the agreements between Russian and French Presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Nicolas Sarkozy.
