OREANDA-NEWS. On November 20, a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand Murray McCully took place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) events being held in the Peruvian capital Lima.

The sides exchanged views on the state of, and prospects for Russian-New Zealand relations and interaction between the two countries in the international arena, and expressed the mutual keenness on further expanding cooperation in the trade, economic, humanitarian and other fields.

The ministers also discussed a number of aspects of the world financial crisis, particularly in light of the outcomes of the recent international meetings to work out approaches to surmounting its negative consequences.
