OREANDA-NEWS. Austrian government plans to continue the course aimed at easing anti-Russian sanctions.

This is stated in the work program of the country’s development for 2020–2024. On January 2, it was presented by the head of the Austrian People’s Party, Sebastian Kurz, together with the leader of the Green Party, Werner Kogler. The oath of the members of the new government of Austria is scheduled for January 7.

“With progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, it is necessary to consider the gradual lifting of sanctions,” the program says. The document notes that Vienna complies with anti-Russian sanctions in accordance with European consensus. However, it is mentioned in the program that the new Austrian government is interested in developing the Russian-Austrian public forum Sochi Dialogue.
