OREANDA-NEWS. The French ambassador to Baku will be summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in connection with the adoption by the National Assembly of France of a resolution calling on the country’s government to recognize the independence of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.

188 deputies of The French National Assembly (lower house of parliament) voted for the resolution, 3 voted against, 16 abstained. On November 25, the French Senate adopted a similar resolution.

“The French Ambassador to Azerbaijan will be summoned to the Foreign Ministry in connection with the adoption by the French National Assembly of an unfounded and biased resolution. The decisive protest of the Azerbaijani side will be brought to the attention of the other side,” the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry explained.
