OREANDA-NEWS. A meeting with the Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Minsk, Martin Wojciechowski was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, during which the Belarusian side urged to extradite two founders of Telegram-channels, Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich, as soon as possible.

“The Belarusian side expressed concern about the continuing criminal activities of Putilo and Protasevich through the extremist Telegram-channels Nexta and Nexta Live created by them. The Polish side was called to extradite Putilo and Protasevich to the Republic of Belarus as soon as possible, taking into account the special social danger of their criminal activities,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported on November 16.

In October, a Minsk court ruled that the main opposition Telegram-channel Nexta and its logo are extremist materials. After that, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus promised to arrest citizens for reposting from this channel. In November, Putilo and Protasevich were prosecuted as defendants in the case of riots in Belarus.
