Belarusian President Instructed to Create a Missile with a Range of up to 300 Kilometers
OREANDA-NEWS. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the country needs to create its own missile with a range of up to 300 kilometers.
On May 22, the politician got acquainted with military developments at the design engineering bureau located in the town of Machulishchi (Minsk Region). The head of state was informed that now the specialists of the enterprise are assembling Chinese missiles and developing their own weapons with a range of up to 300 kilometers. However, the deadlines are not being met yet.
“We need our own missile,” Lukashenko said. “We cannot create weapons with which we will depend on other countries. Nobody will give us this weapon for no particular reason. We were lucky to come to an agreement with the Chinese… But there shouldn’t be any further dependence.”The developers said that the first prototype should appear in September 2020. At the same time, they noticed that Russia does not want to provide their test sites. “There is no need to kneel before the Russians. This is a signal if our closest ally… didn’t agree to make a missile with us, and doesn’t provide a test site,” Lukashenko commented on this.
