OREANDA-NEWS. Representatives of the headquarters of the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden sent a request to the General Services Administration (GSA) to recognize him as the elected president of the United States. This was reported by the TV channel Fox News.

The document claims that Biden’s victory in the election was independently confirmed. The headquarters expressed the hope that the department would immediately recognize Biden and Kamala Harris as the country’s president and vice-president. The request also states that now the economic interests and the national security of the United States depend on whether the federal government can immediately fulfill the will of the people and carry out a calm transfer of power.

At the same time, according to the chief of the GSA, Emily Murphy, quoted by the newspaper Politico, Biden has not yet been recognized as elected head of state. Murphy said that the presidential candidate will not receive access to funding until his election is officially confirmed.
