This statement was made on October 26 by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Zhao Lijian. “To protect our international interests, we decided to take appropriate steps. We will introduce sanctions against the US companies, which played a significant role in this process,” he said.

On July 9, it became known that the American authorities approved the sale of equipment and weapons to Taiwan for more than 2.2 billion US dollars. On August 21, the US State Department agreed to sell 66 fighters F-16 to Taiwan. In this regard, China protested to the United States. On October 22, Washington approved a new arms shipment to Taiwan for 1.8 billion dollars. According to the Pentagon, the deal includes three weapons systems, including missile launchers, detection sensors and artillery.
