OREANDA-NEWS. Chinese authorities are preparing retaliatory measures to protect national manufacturers and suppliers of supercomputers, that the United States has imposed sanctions on. This statement was made by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian at a regular briefing. «China will take the necessary measures to respond to such actions of the United States, we intend to firmly protect the legitimate interests of our enterprises», said Zhao Lijian.

According to him, the US authorities are trying at all costs to «secure a monopoly» on the international high-tech market in order to maintain their «hegemony in the world». To this end, he noted, the United States abuses the concept of state security, putting pressure on Chinese high-tech enterprises.

Earlier, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs imposed sanctions against citizens and companies from the United States and Canada. This is how the PRC responded to the restrictions imposed due to the persecution of citizens in Xinjiang. In particular, Beijing will impose sanctions against the chairman of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) Gale Manchin and deputy head of the department Tony Perkins.
