OREANDA-NEWS. The members of the Democratic Party in the US House of Representatives published two articles of the charges brought in impeachment of President Donald Trump, reports The Wall Street Journal. The charges were named by the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the head of the House Judicial Committee Jerrold Nadler.

The committee led by Nadler prepared, first, allegations of abuse of power: the Democrats suspect Trump of delaying the provision of military assistance to Ukraine and demanding, in exchange for it, to investigate against his political opponent Joe Biden and his son Hunter. In addition, the president is accused of obstructing Congress. The committee points out that he did not allow his assistants to share information within the framework of the impeachment investigation.

Pelosi instructed the Judicial Committee to start formulating the charges last week. The Wall Street Journal reports that the committee during the vote, which will be held next week, will decide whether to submit the charges to parliamentarians. In case of support by a simple majority of the members of the House of Representatives, the case will be transferred to the Senate – in this case, the consideration of impeachment issues will probably begin in January 2020. To convict Trump, two-thirds of senators must support the charges.

US President Donald Trump considers the indictment presented by Democrats to be ridiculous. “Nadler just said that I “pressured Ukraine to interfere in our 2020 Election. Ridiculous, and he knows that is not true. Both the President & Foreign Minister of Ukraine said, many times, that there “was no pressure.” Nadler and the Dems know this, but refuse to acknowledge,” Trump wrote on Twitter and once again called the accusations a “witch hunt.”
