OREANDA-NEWS. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that he “with all determination” will support Azerbaijan in the conflict with Armenia. He called on Armenia to liberate the “occupied lands.”

“The time has come to end the crisis that began with the Armenian occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh… The immediate liberation of the occupied lands by Armenia will open the way for peace and stability in the region,” Erdogan said. In his opinion, Azerbaijan “by its own efforts puts an end to the Armenian occupation.”

Turkish leader added that the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe failed to cope with its task of resolving the conflict. According to him, Russia, the United States and France have not been able to solve the problem in almost 30 years.

On Sunday morning, Armenia and Azerbaijan reported of shelling along the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh. Martial law has been introduced in both countries, the mobilization has been declared. Armenia claims that Turkey sent militants from Syria to Azerbaijan. This is denied by Baku.
