OREANDA-NEWS. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proposed to Russian leader Vladimir Putin to create a joint working group to resolve the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the television channel CNN Turk, citing diplomatic sources.

According to journalists, Erdogan made this offer during telephone talks with Putin on November 7. In the coming days, the negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh may turn into a bilateral format, they will be held outside the work of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The new group will develop post-ceasefire measures to guide the process of political settlement.

Earlier, the Kremlin administration informed that at the talks the presidents of Russia and Turkey confirmed their readiness to interact for a peaceful settlement of the situation. Putin spoke to the Turkish President about the telephone talks with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the issue of reaching a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
