EU and China Concluded an Economic Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. The European Union has entered into an economic agreement with China. The document is named the EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment.
In accordance with the agreement, the access of European companies to the Chinese market will be significantly expanded. In addition, an improvement in the business environment for EU enterprises is expected, including ensuring the rules of fair competition.
The agreement will strengthen the two largest economic blocs in the field of trade and investment, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen said. In China, the agreement was called a gift for the New Year.
The United States and the United Kingdom opposed the signing of an agreement between Brussels and Beijing. London and Washington accused Europe of violating the rules of Western solidarity.
