OREANDA-NEWS. The European Parliament approved an agreement on Great Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.

The voting was broadcasted by The Guardian newspaper on its YouTube channel. 621 deputies voted for the agreement, 49 voted against, 13 parliamentarians abstained.

If the document will be formally ratified by the Council of the European Union, the United Kingdom will exit the Union on January 31. European Parliament President David Sassoli announced that the Council should finally endorse the Brexit treaty on Thursday.

Earlier, the agreement was signed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Charles Michel, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and British Queen Elizabeth II.
