OREANDA-NEWS. The National Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine suspects former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Tetiana Chornovol of setting fire to a party office which caused death of a person during protests on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independemce Squre) in Kiev in 2014.

“According to preliminary information, on February 18, 2014, the suspect headed the actions of a group of persons and directly participated in the arson of a building in the center of Kiev on Lipskaya Street, where the office of one of the political parties was located. As a result of the fire, an employee born in 1948, who was in the premises of the party office, died,” the report of the agency says.

If the guilt of Chornovol is proved, she can be sentenced to 10–15 years in prison.
