OREANDA-NEWS. The epidemiological situation in Georgia will be worse than previously expected due to the fact that mass protests began in the streets. This statement was made by the Prime Minister of the country, Giorgi Gakharia, on November 5 at a meeting of the interdepartmental committee, speaking via video link.

“The situation will be more difficult than we expected, since the mobility caused by street actions is, of course, directly related to the rapid increase in infection. Therefore, full mobilization of absolutely all ministries and relevant departments is necessary,” Gakharia said.

The opposition parties of Georgia did not recognize the results of the voting in the parliamentary election held on October 31. They began to bring their supporters to protest actions and demand new campaign.

In total, 49,218 coronavirus cases were detected in Georgia, 2,401 were detected in the last 24 hours. Gakharia is infected with SARS-CoV-2; he is working remotely.
