OREANDA-NEWS. The German authorities consider the poisoning of Russian opposition politician Aleksey Navalny as probable. This was stated by the spokesperson of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany, Steffen Seibert.

To make sure that Navalny was poisoned, as his supporters insist, German side needs to get more information about what happened, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said during a press conference in Kiev. “Many facts are missing in the case of Navalny: medical, and also likely criminological. We must wait for those,” he explained.

Navalny became ill on August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow. The airplane made an emergency landing in Omsk, and the politician was hospitalized. Navalny fell into a coma. Omsk doctors do not adhere to the version of the oppositionist’s supporters about his poisoning; they said that no traces of any poison were found during examination. On August 22, Navalny was transported to Germany; he is undergoing treatment at a clinic in Berlin.
