OREANDA-NEWS. In India, it is reported that China continues to increase the number of troops on the Indian borders. The controversial territory which is meant is Ladakh, a mountainous region where some time ago China began to modernize the infrastructure of a military base.

In New Delhi, they claim that this is a “flagrant violation of the agreement of 2013.” According to this document, none of the parties should deploy military contingents in certain border areas and be involved in monitoring border patrols. The agreement states that only border forces may be present in Ladakh.

India accuses China of the fact that currently up to 1.5 thousand soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army are deployed in Ladakh. Beijing also accumulated additional troops on its territory near the territories mentioned in the agreement. China left over 5,000 servicemen there after the end of the exercises. According to Indians, this creates an extended front for a possible invasion.

In China, they reject these allegations, claiming that there are no violations on their part. The fact is that Beijing does not consider territories in Ladakh to be Indian.
