OREANDA-NEWS. A member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council of the Belarusian opposition Maria Kalesnikava may be in the Mozyr border detachment in the Gomel Region, the campaign headquarters of the former presidential candidate of Belarus Viktar Babaryka reported. The headquarters learned about this from several anonymous sources.

“In the interests of Maria Kalesnikava, an agreement was concluded with a lawyer from the city of Mozyr, who submitted to military unit 1257 (Mozyr frontier detachment. – Ed.) a notice of acceptance of the defense and a copy of the order,” Babaryka wrote in his Telegram channel. The local lawyer was told that Kalesnikava is not in the military unit. Earlier, an orderly officer told the lawyer of Kalesnikava, Maksim Znak, that he does not know about the facts of the detention of anyone at the checkpoint.

On September 7, unknown persons in Minsk put Kalesnikava in a minibus and drove away in an unknown direction. Next day, the Border Committee of Belarus confirmed that she was detained at the Belarusian–Ukrainian border, and two of her associates, Anton Rodnenkov and Ivan Kravtsov, left the country. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stated that their departure was “forcible expulsion.”
