OREANDA-NEWS. According to a court decision, the arrest of a member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council of the Belarusian opposition, Maria Kalesnikava, was extended until November 8 in connection with the charge of publicly calling for the seizure of power.

This was reported by Kalesnikava’s lawyer Lyudmila Kazak. Earlier, the defense asked to cancel the arrest. “We were charged a couple of days ago, the day before yesterday. Accordingly, nothing will change with the custody until the complaint is considered in the court. Now, according to the term, it turns out that the custody is established for two months… from September 8 to November 8… And then they will renew it, if they deem it necessary,” Kazak told reporters.

Kalesnikava was detained on September 7 by employees of the Belarusian border committee. Before that, she was abducted by unknown persons, and she did not get in touch for 24 hours. On September 9 it became known that the oppositionist was arrested in connection with calls to seize power.
