OREANDA-NEWSThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan plans to discuss with the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine the statement of its official representative Yekaterina Zelenko about the intention to take diplomatic measures against Kazakhstan because of the statement of the country's president Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev about Crimea. This was reported to the Russian media on Thursday by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Shahrat Nuryshev.

“As I understand it, if they made such a statement, they would have to come to the Foreign Ministry, hold a meeting, and express, if they have, some questions to our diplomats. I think we will have an official statement”, said Nuryshev, answering the question of what will be the reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan to the statement of the Ukrainian side. He noted that from the Ukrainian side "so far there have been no measures". “We expect, we’ll talk to them today”, Nuryshev added.

After the coup in Ukraine in February 2014, the Crimean and Sevastopol authorities held a referendum on reunification with Russia.
