OREANDA-NEWS. The statements of the Belarusian lider Alexander Lukashenko about the supply of «a huge amount of weapons» from Ukraine to Belarus do not correspond to reality. This was stated on Monday, July 5, in Kiev at a press conference within the framework of the national forum «Ukraine 30. International Politics» by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

«Here it is necessary to remain calm and always understand that Alexander Lukashenko is a person about whom it is necessary to do thorough fact-checking», Kuleba stressed.

«His statement about the smuggling of weapons from Ukraine to Belarus will not pass any fact-checking, because it simply does not correspond to reality in any parameters, as well as his statement that the border is closed», Kuleba added, referring to Lukashenko's words about the closure of the country's state border with Ukraine.

Kuleba added that Kiev is not looking for a conflict, but will always strictly protect it's interests if «someone tries to impose this conflict on us». Earlier, the representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleg Nikolenko, said that Lukashenko's statements are aimed at intimidating the residents of Belarus, as well as positioning Ukraine as an external threat to Minsk.

Kiev has never interfered in the internal affairs of Belarus and is not going to do so in the future, he stressed.
