OREANDA-NEWS. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian president, claimed that the words of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, saying there is a significant likelihood that the poisoning of opposition politician Aleksey Navalny came from high-ranking Russian officials, are unacceptable. According to Peskov, this statement distorts reality.

“We consider direct or indirect indications of the involvement of any official Russian representatives inadmissible and a priori erroneous and distorting reality,” Peskov said. “We are interested in finding out the reasons for what happened,” the Kremlin spokesman added.

Commenting on reports that Navalny recovers, Peskov said that this is not official information. “These are media reports. We have always learned to be very careful about media reports and cannot yet consider these messages as the primary source until they are backed up by some more or less official information,” he explained.
