OREANDA-NEWS. The Kremlin administration does not know anything about the plans of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugznsk people’s republics (DPR and LPR) to become part of Russia. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“As for the de facto steps towards Russia, I don’t know anything about this, I don’t have any information on this,” the politician said. At the same time, the Kremlin representative recalled that the Russian side continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the republics. In addition, many of their residents received Russian citizenship. This decision was made for humanitarian reasons, Peskov stressed.

On July 5, Alexander Boroday, former prime minister of the DPR, announced that both republics would soon become part of Russia. He said that de facto it happened a long time ago, and soon it will be fixed de jure.
