OREANDA-NEWSThe vocalist of the Okean Elzy group and the leader of the Ukrainian Voice party (according to preliminary data, going to the Verkhovna Rada) Svyatoslav Vakarchuk said that Ukraine needed a law that would clearly regulate relations between Ukraine and Russia in all spheres. Vakarchuk made such a statement in an interview with Ukrinform about the legislative regulation of the touring activities of Ukrainian artists in Russia.

According to Vakarchuk, at the moment Ukraine is “suffering from double standards”, since the state doesn't want to take responsibility for many things. In this regard, the politician and the musician believes, the question of people's moral responsibility comes to the fore. “Why do some people not go on tour to the aggressor country, while others, on the contrary, are actively touring in Russia”, said Vakarchuk.

A special law, which stipulates the rules of coexistence with Russia, would help rectify the situation, he said. “It would be good for the state to adopt a clear law in general, conditionally speaking, about coexistence with the aggressor state, where it would clearly define what is possible and what isn't, and then this question would be removed, since it will always divide society, this isn't limited by law”, Vakarchuk explained his thought.

According to the results of counting more than 87% of protocols, the Golos party of Vakarchuk is gaining 6%, which allows it to pass to the Verkhovna Rada.

Earlier, the leader of the Ocean Elzy group, 44, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, on May 16, announced plans to participate in elections to the Verkhovna Rada. The broadcast of his speech at the site near the National Museum of History of Ukraine led to YouTube Ukrainian TV channel. Vakarchuk also announced that he was creating a political party, which was called “Golos”.
