OREANDA-NEWS. Poland will help Lithuania to protect the border with Belarus. The Republic of Lithuania will receive police officers: they will help to ensure the security of the borders of the Lithuanian state, since it is a strategic partner of Poland, said the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the country Mariusz Kaminski. «The Lithuanian government has asked us for support», — Kaminsky said at a press conference on Monday, August 30.

Recall that recently Lithuania, Latvia and Poland have announced an increase in the number of illegal migrants detained at the border with Belarus. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk will no longer restrain the flow of illegal migrants to the EU countries: because of Western sanctions, there is «neither money nor strength» for this.

Earlier it was reported that the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg demanded that Latvia and Poland provide assistance to migrants who are on their borders with Belarus. A citizen of Afghanistan and Iraq of Kurdish origin addressed the ECHR on this issue. They wanted to get to Latvia and Poland and cannot return to the territory of Belarus.
