OREANDA-NEWS. The coronavirus pandemic has become a geopolitical problem, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated. “As I expected before the election, the pandemic will result in major players on the world stage starting to divide the world. The pandemic has turned from a purely medical problem not to just an economic one, but already to a geopolitical one,” Lukashenko said at a meeting with the country’s Prosecutor General Andrey Shved.

This is not the first time the Belarusian leader has linked the pandemic to geopolitics. In November, Lukashenko described it as a cover for an attempt to re-divide the world.

At the end of December, mass vaccination against COVID-19 began in Belarus. First of all, medical workers and teachers will be vaccinated, as well as those workers who, due to the peculiarities of their profession, have a lot of contact with other people.
