OREANDA-NEWS. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he had offered the oppositionists to re-count votes in the presidential election. However, according to the politician, they refused demanding to hold new election.

After that, the head of state proposed to organize new election after the adoption of the new constitution in a referendum.

Maria Kolesnikova, an associate of the main opposition candidate in the presidential election in Belarus Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, said that she had not heard anything about the proposal of Lukashenko to re-count votes. “Nobody offered us anything. And we know for sure that it is already impossible to do, because a lot of ballots have been destroyed,” Kolesnikova explained.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission of Belarus rejected all complaints from opposition candidates about non-recognition of the election results. It was reported that there are no grounds to recognize the presidential election as invalid in any of precincts.
