OREANDA-NEWS. President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko recalled that he opposes the holding of new presidential election in the country. “You shouldn’t wait that I will be forced to do something under pressure. There will be no election,” the politician stated during a meeting with workers of the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant.

A day before, during a rally in his support, Lukashenko declared that Belarus would not follow the lead of Western countries that demand new presidential election. “Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and, unfortunately, our relative Ukraine… order us to hold new election. If we follow their lead, we will go into a tailspin and never stabilize our aircraft! We will perish as a state, as a people, as a nation,” the head of state emphasized.
