OREANDA-NEWS. French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Poland stated that Russia is trying to revise the history of the Second World War.

Speaking to Polish students, the French leader said that Europe needs to be built, knowing its history and protecting it from all attempts to falsify it by some countries and parties. “The risk that I see is the appearance of distortions of historical memory. Sometimes I see attempts of Poland to erase 1989 and this history of freedom. I see a deliberate Hungarian policy to revise the entire history of the XX century. I see Russia’s approach to re-interpret the Second World War and attribute the blame to the Polish people. I see the risk of fragmentation of our memory in the revision of history,” Macron declared.
