OREANDA-NEWS. Nobel laureate, writer, member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council of the opposition of Belarus, Svetlana Alexievich, flew to Germany.

This was reported by her assistant Tatyana Tyurina. According to her, the departure of Alexievich is not connected to the criminal case against the Council. “Why does Svetlana Alexandrovna have to leave her country for good? Nothing of the kind, she flew away on her personal business. She has meetings planned, a book fair will be in Sweden, and she will be presented with an award in Sicily,” Tyurina told the portal Tut.by. She stressed that the departure of the writer is not emigration. “This is her normal life. She just could not leave for a long time because of her health. When will he return? It depends on how events will develop here, and on her well-being,” Alexievich’s assistant clarified.

The Coordination Council for Power Transit was established on August 18 on the instructions of the presidential candidate Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. After its creation, the Investigative Committee of Belarus opened a criminal case on calls to seize power. Out of the seven members of the Council’s Presidium, five either were detained or left abroad.
