Merkel Called the Economic Situation in Germany the Most Difficult in History
OREANDA-NEWS. German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel considers that currently the country’s economy is in the most difficult situation in history. At the same time, the politician admitted that the German authorities acted correctly during the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are in the most difficult economic situation in the history of Germany. It’s just to be understood… We all don’t know how long this pandemic will accompany us… Of course, we cannot look into the future, but, I think, we acted correctly,” Merkel said on the air of the German television channel ARD. The Chancellor recalled that a package of measures 130 billion euros worth to stimulate the national economy was approved by the government.According to the latest data, 184.5 thousand Germans are infected with coronavirus infection. 8.6 thousand patients died.
