OREANDA-NEWS. Yulia Navalnaya, a wife of the Russian opposition politician Aleksey Navalny, turned to President Vladimir Putin with a demand to allow him to be taken to Germany for treatment.

The letter to the head of state was posted on Navalny’s Twitter page. “I consider that Aleksey Anatolyevich Navalny needs qualified medical assistance in the Federal Republic of Germany,” the message says. Navalnaya noted that since 12:00, August 21, supporters and relatives of her spouse have every opportunity to transport him under the supervision of doctors.

Earlier, the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov promised that the Kremlin would provide assistance in transporting Navalny for medical treatment abroad, if such an appeal is received.

An airplane with medical equipment arrived from Germany to Russia on the morning of August 21. German physicians were allowed into the Omsk emergency clinic where Navalny is hospitalized. “We do not know where they are now and with whom they communicate,” the politician’s press secretary Kira Yarmysh said.
