At the request of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, an operational headquarters was created to develop an anti-crisis plan in connection with the situation in the global economy. According to the presidential press service, Prime Minister Askar Mamin will head it. The institution will develop an anti-crisis plan to support employment. “The President considers it extremely important to provide as many people as possible with jobs,” the press service reported.

Earlier on March 9, Tokayev held a meeting with the leadership of the government and state agencies. The issues of the financial and economic situation in the world and its impact on the country’s economy were discussed.

The head of state also instructed the National Bank and other state authorities to implement all social obligations to citizens in full. Tokayev declared a need to take measures to reduce budget expenditures, stabilize the currency market of the country and optimize republican and local budgets.
