OREANDA-NEWS. The Ukrainian parliamentary factions “Fatherland”, “European Solidarity” and “Voice” issued a joint statement on the need for the President Volodymyr Zelensky to keep certain limits in the negotiations in the “Normandy format”.

“Being aware of the risks to the security and national interests of Ukraine, the implementation of the European and Euro-Atlantic choices of the Ukrainian people, which emerge from the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation, we declare the necessity of observing the principle positions… during the negotiations in the “Normandy format”, the violation of which will cause irreparable damage to Ukraine,” the statement says.

The factions indicated the following demands: no compromises regarding a unitary state and no federalization; no compromises regarding the European and Euro-Atlantic course; no political actions, in particular elections, in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass until the fulfillment of security and de-occupation conditions; no compromises regarding the de-occupation and return of Crimea to Ukraine; no cessation of international lawsuits against Russia; restoration of control of Ukraine over the Ukrainian-Russian border.

“In this regard, we are coordinating our actions to ensure the inviolability of these “red lines” and to comply with the national interests of our state. We call on all state parties and public organizations to join the joint struggle to protect Ukraine,” the statement says.

The document was signed by the leaders of the political parties: Yulia Tymoshenko (“Fatherland”), Petro Poroshenko (“European Solidarity”), and Svyatoslav Vakarchuk (“Voice”).
