OREANDA-NEWS. The Russia Public Opinion Research Center interviewed citizens at the exit from polling stations to vote on the amendments to the country’s Constitution. According to exit polls, they were supported by 76 %. 23.6 % of respondents voted against. The survey was conducted at 800 polling stations in 25 regions. 163,124 people took part in the survey, but 29.4 % of them refused to answer.

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said that she regrets the publication of exit polls’ results. “Unfortunately, this problem is not regulated by our law, we have no levers to prohibit it. The only thing we asked was that the results of the exit polls should not be announced, at least until the moment when the vote ends,” the official explained.

The main voting day is July 1. However, in fact, the Russians can vote for seven days, from June 25 to July 1.
