OREANDA-NEWS. The introduction of Russian peacekeepers into Nagorno-Karabakh could be the optimal solution to the conflict, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

“I am in favour of deployment of Russian peacekeepers in the conflict zone. But the problem is that deployment of Russian peacekeepers in the conflict zone needs to be acceptable to all sides of the conflict,” the politician said during interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper published on October 30. At the same time, the Armenian Prime Minister called on European countries to make more efforts to ensure that Turkey stops supporting Azerbaijan.

Earlier, Pashinyan had already proposed to discuss the possibility of introduction of a Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh at the level of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (Russia, USA, France). The Kremlin administration then explained that such a decision is possible only with the consent of both parties to the conflict, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
