OREANDA-NEWS. The American magazine Politico published on Monday, November 1, satellite images, which, as noted in the publication, indicate that Russia is transferring troops and military equipment to the border with Ukraine. The photos, which were taken a few hours earlier by Moxa Technologies, show armored vehicles and artillery pieces near Yelnya, Smolensk region. This area is located about 100 kilometers from the border with Belarus and 250 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

According to Politico, quoting an analysis of the British «Jane's Information Group» specializing in military topics, near the border with Ukraine, in the Bryansk and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation, units and equipment of the 1st Guards Tank Army and the 4th Guards Tank Division, usually based in the Moscow region, were also seen.

Politico notes that the published images confirm the information that appeared earlier in the media about the new build-up of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine. On October 30, The Washington Post wrote about this, noting that Moscow's actions caused concern in the United States and Europe. In turn, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that Kiev did not record «additional transfer of Russian units, weapons and military equipment to the state border with Ukraine».

Commenting on the publications of the American media, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said on November 2 that the movement of Russian military equipment on the territory of Russia is exclusively an internal matter of the Russian Federation. According to him, «Russia has never threatened anyone, does not threaten and does not pose a danger to anyone», but takes measures to ensure it's own security «against the background of quite aggressive expansionist tendencies, especially from NATO and a number of other countries».
