OREANDA-NEWS. US authorities are making efforts to stabilize the global energy market, despite a very significant decrease in energy demand. This was announced on April 22 by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, answering questions from journalists.

The politician noted that the decline in oil demand over the past few weeks ranged from 20 % to 35 %, and US President Donald Trump is doing everything possible to maintain America’s potential in extracting its energy resources. Pompeo said also that the country’s authorities are working to stabilize the global energy market in order to return demand to the level of October, November or December 2019. According to the Secretary of State, Washington is holding talks with countries GDP of which is dependent on oil sales, with the goal of jointly resolving existing problems.
