OREANDA-NEWS. The whereabouts of the current President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay, Jeenbekov, are unknown. This was stated by the deputy head of the country’s Security Council, Omurbek Suvanaliev.

“The whereabouts of Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov and Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov are unknown. For security reasons, a decision was made to close the border,” Suvanaliev said. Boronov resigned on October 6.

The acting head of Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs and Bishkek commandant, Kursan Asanov, appointed to this post on October 6, also said that he does not know where the President is. “Now I am busy with other problems – putting things in order in Bishkek. As you can see, since yesterday, together with the voluntary people’s squads, we managed to take the situation in the city under control and prevent looting. And we continue to work on it. I believe that other structures are looking for Jeenbekov and others,” Asanov said.
