OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the situation in Syrian governorate of Idlib, claimed that the parties managed to achieve a positive result. “We do not always agree with Turkish partners in assessing what is happening in Syria. But each time we were able to find common ground, come to an acceptable solution. So it happened this time. We have confirmed our interest in continuing to work within the Astana format,” Russian leader said at a press conference.

Commenting on the agreements that were reached after the six-hour talks, Erdogan announced that the ceasefire in Idlib will be effective from midnight of March 6.
