OREANDA-NEWS. The Kremlin’s press service reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation, during which the politicians with satisfaction noted a significant reduction in tension in the Idlib de-escalation zone in Syria.

“The issues related to the implementation of the agreements reached during the Russian-Turkish summit in Moscow on March 5 were discussed,” the statement says. The leaders of the two countries reaffirmed the importance of continuing close joint work, primarily among the ministries of defense, for a stable cessation of hostilities and further stabilization of the situation. Putin and Erdogan also agreed to continue maintaining regular dialogue at various levels, including personal contacts.
