OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to purchase oil field in the Russian Federation. This was reported on the website of the President of the Republic of Belarus.

On November 4, a telephone conversation took place between the heads of the two states. At the beginning of the talks, the presidents discussed the supply of hydrocarbons to Belarus in 2021. Putin and Lukashenko agreed to resolve these issues promptly. “The President of Belarus turned to his Russian counterpart with a request for the possible acquisition of an oil field in Russia. Vladimir Putin supported this idea,” the message reads.

The politicians also discussed the topic of cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere and the fight against coronavirus infection. In late August, Lukashenko said that he believed in the high quality of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19.

In addition, the parties considered issues of interaction in the trade and economic sphere. Lukashenko informed Putin about the current situation in Belarus.
