OREANDA-NEWS. The current head of Tajikistan, 68-year-old Emomali Rahmon, won the presidential election with 90.92% of votes. This was reported by the news agency Sputnik Tajikistan, citing the words of the chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda, Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzod.

“Emomali Rahmon is gaining 90.92%,” he said, announcing preliminary data, and added that the turnout in the presidential election was 85.39 %.

The presidential term is seven years. Rahmon won the presidential election for the fifth time.

On the evening of October 11, the head of the Central Commission for Elections reported that no violations had been registered in the elections, and no complaints had been received from either candidates or observers.
