OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian Federation has allocated more than 1 billion US dollars for the restoration of power grids, the industrial complex of Syria and other humanitarian goals. This was announced on November 11 by the head of the Russian-Syrian interdepartmental coordination headquarters for the return of refugees, Mikhail Mizintsev, at an international conference on the return of refugees to the Arab Republic.

“For humanitarian purposes, restoration of power grids and industrial production, objects of religious worship, Russia has allocated more than 1 billion dollars,” the official said. He did not specify when and for what period the funds were provided.

According to Mizintsev, within the framework of the development of interstate cooperation and the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people, Russian ministries are consistently promoting projects in such important areas as education, healthcare, environmental management, housing construction, trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
