Russia Extended for Another Year the Rules for the Destruction of Sanctions Products
OREANDA-NEWS The Russian government until December 31, 2020 extended the rules for the destruction of sanctions products. The relevant resolution is published on the official portal of legal information.
In August 2014, the Russian authorities in response to Western sanctions banned the import of products from the European Union, the USA, Canada and several other countries. A year later, Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which products that are imported into Russia bypassing the embargo should be destroyed.
In early June 2019, Rospotrebnadzor propose to legally prohibit the destruction of food suitable for consumption. The department said that it was, in particular, about sanctioned goods. This idea was opposed by the Rosselkhoznadzor.
