OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin phoned with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. This was reported by the Kremlin press service on May 8.

Politicians exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory over Nazism. Putin told Johnson that Russia remembers the feat of British sailors, members of the Northern convoys, thanks to which the Soviet army and industry received the necessary weapons and materials during the war. The head of Great Britain, for his part, expressed his gratitude to the Soviet soldiers for the key role in the victory over the common enemy.

The interlocutors also expressed their readiness to establish dialogue and interaction on issues on the agenda of Russian-British relations, as well as in resolving pressing problems in international sphere.
