OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic. This was announced on September 10 on the Kremlin’s official website.

During the conversation, the leaders of the countries paid special attention to the problem of settlement in the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo. Vucic informed the Russian President about the talks that took place in Washington and Brussels on September 4 and 7, respectively.

“Vladimir Putin reaffirmed the invariability of Russia’s principled position regarding the elaboration of a compromise, balanced solution acceptable for Belgrade, which should be approved by the UN Security Council,” the Kremlin press service reported.

Putin and Vucic also discussed topical issues of strategic partnership between Moscow and Belgrade. The Russian leader highly appreciated the contribution of his counterpart to the development of Russian–Serbian ties and stressed his readiness to continue close cooperation with Vucic.
